One day, when he was a young child, Nemo and his sister were shown a magic trick, and Nemo was impressed by the sleight-of-hand that they used to perform the trick. He dreamed that someday he would be able to perform illusions as well as real ones. When he woke up that morning, he practiced his magic tricks until he fell asleep, and he prayed that he would one day be as good as real magicians. That night, Nemo asks his sister to perform a magic show for him. She tells him that they have just heard that midoriko has been sent back to Juri's house, and that they should invite her to dinner. Nemo wonders if there might be a demon hunter nearby, and wonders what it was like to fall from the box. He asks her to open her eyes, and she says that it feels like a demon has shut her eyes. She asks him to stop the show, but he says that everyone who works with demons is "lackey," and that he once wanted to be a doctor.
