This chapter opens with a soliloquy by Enoshima, in which he laments the fact that he has been betrayed by the gods. Enoshima explains that the gods of the underworld have lost their power to return to the gods in the other realm. He tells Enoshima that they will have to wait until October to devise a way to stop the evil from happening. He asks Enoshima to send him the "pillar akina," one of the gods, in order to defeat the evil and send the other gods back to the underworld.
