About This Chapter
In the midst of his preparations for battle, the dragon eats a piece of rice and thanks the man for making him a tasty snack. He's ready to fight, but he's worried that the old man has forgotten to put on his fighting clothes. He wonders if he could take on the man in his high school uniform. The old man says that he can't, because he'd have to pretend to be palling. The dragon says that's just not the way he does it. He asks the man how many people he can take on, and the man replies that he could easily take on one by tuning his voice. He says that the best thing he can do is make his face look dirty or make it look like he has a grin on his face, which is supposed to be a sign of support for the devil. The man says he'll fix his scarf, but then he realizes that the scarf is loose. He wants to fix it ASAP, but the man doesn't want to do that. He stomps the man next to him, and then the man stomps him again, and so on, until the man finally realizes that he has to do something to fix the scarf. He tells the man that he needs to get rid of the mayor and the city councilman, because they're both too important to him to leave them in the lurch. The woman says that she needs to choose between her town and the scarf, and that she's going to lose the scarf if she chooses the town. She's not going to leave the city, she says, because she needs the scarf to protect her memory from the dragon. She screams that the man is trying to burn her scarf because he locked her in her room, and now she needs it to protect herself from the real dragon. He crackles the scarf and says that it's the last thing
