About This Chapter
Back in the Senate chamber, the Governess tells the other Senators that she's just returned from a trip to the temple. She's not feeling well, but she'll be fine. The Governess also tells the Senators that they've formed a new bureau of operations to manage the police. She also tells them that the only member of the Senate's staff who's qualified to be a police officer is her grandson, who isn't up to the job because he's too young. They're also worried about the police's relationship with the government, since they're supposed to be loyal to the government. The other Senators agree that they don't need to worry about it. They just need to get the heck out of the way and let the government do its job. The rest of the Senators agree, too, since it's their job to keep the government in check. They also agree that the government shouldn't be too hard on the people, since the government is supposed to keep them out of their way. They agree that it would be better if the government didn't try to do too much for the people. The Senators also agree to keep their mouths shut about the fact that they can't defeat the government as a god, since that's impossible. They say they'll try to figure out a way to help the people if they feel like it.
