About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the mermaid is still a "hybrid of her body" and that she is "immortal immature" . In other words, she's not as strong as she used to be. The only way to make her stronger is to eat her meat, which is a bad idea because she'll grow old and die before you can eat her. The wolf, on the other hand, is stronger than the mermaid because he's a "werewolf" , which means that he has the power to eat. The narrator then asks the wolf if he met the guy at the demon hunters' meeting. Apparently, the wolf was the type who fell from the sky after being bitten by a vampire. He's kind of like the guy in the book who tells you to throw a book at the wall. The wolves are weak, the narrator says, because they can't use the silver weapons that the vampires have. They're also weak because they don't have the ability to use the shadows that the vampire uses to attack them. So, the wolves are weaker because they're not using the shadows to attack the vampire, but the vampire is using them to attack him.
