In this chapter, we learn more about Eno's ether gear, which allows him to alter the physical state of his opponents. Eno explains that his ether gear works by forcing a change in the physical flow of ether into his opponent's body. He explains that this is how he can alter his opponents' physical state, but that he can't do it on his own. He tells us that when he was a child, he was kidnapped by Mller, lost his limbs, and spent his days searching for his sister, who was supposed to heal him of kleene. Now he can be whatever he wants, but he still hasn't beaten Eno.
