In this chapter, we learn that the Edens zero is able to travel through time. It's just that he doesn't actually exist in the future. Instead, he's part of a war that's going on in the universe right now. He's born in the present, which is a big deal because it's a fixed time in all of the universes. The idea that he'll never be able to be a part of the future just makes him sad. Now, he says, he is "Ziggy" the mechanical king. He can't understand why the human race would want to wipe him out, or why he'd want to destroy his mother, or even why he wants to get his ether power. The only thing that makes him feel better is the fact that he can still use his ether gear.
