In this short scene, we learn that the androids on board the ship are not human beings at all. They're just "pieces of junk" . The only humans on board are Homura, the teacher, and Valkyrie, the student. They have grown up on a robot-free planet, and when they left, a virus made the robots go haywire. Now they're back on the ship, and the systems are coming back from the other side of the galaxy.
