Chapter 35 opens with a description of the encounter between the monster and the girl. The girl tells the monster that she is surprised that he has come to meet her. She tells him that he is welcome to join the ranks of the shinobi, but that she will not allow him to do so. She also tells him about the power of the flap attack and the gravity cannon that Ziggy used to teach her. The monster tells the girl that he does not believe humans have hearts and that he would not put him down. He also tells her that he was friends with his grandfather and that they are still friends. He says that if he could use his ether gear to temporarily disable all the monsters, he would be able to get back to the town. The shinobi tells him to run home and kill the peasants. He then tells them to run to the other side of the town and tell the other sub-boss to take care of the hermit. He tells them that they should worry about the peasants because the town is full of them and that if they do not get help, they will all be killed. The ghost tells him not to worry because he is not going anywhere and that there are too many people in the town for him to worry about. He asks the ghost if he is supposed to aim at the humans, and the ghost replies that the girl is not supposed to be aiming at humans, but at the other creatures. He goes on to tell the ghost that he did not think he would actually kill his own ally
