Five years have passed, and Paul has finally found the woman he's been looking for. It turns out that she's the woman who gave up her freedom to the baron, and that she now calls herself madame Kurenai. Paul tells her that he'll take her back to Homura, where she'll be able to live a normal life. Paul says that he can't leave because he has a debt, and if he doesn't pay the debt back, the barons will go after her. He tells her to put the collar on her 50, and he promises to earn the money back if she returns. He says that's why he came to the island, because he wants to pay back his debt. He's not going to run away, he says, but he does want to earn some money so he can pay back the debt. Paul then tells us that two years ago, the woman that Paul gave up his freedom to, the one who ended up marrying the man he freed, the man who took over the entire mining operation, ended up killing the entire operation, and now she calls herself "madam" . Paul is horrified at the idea that a woman would do such a thing. He reminds us that he once called his power the "sword of Edens" , which means "the sword of the devil," and that it's okay to use it to kill people.
