Chapter 69 opens with a description of the ether gear powers that rebecca has awakened. She has the ability to jump, which is an improvement over her normal speed. She asks what the four stars do, and the hermit replies that they do not unlock anything, but only the etherion. They are servants of the demon king, and they are not allowed to disobey him. They do not want to tell anyone about what they have learned. The hermit says that he can use his ether gear on board the ship, but that if he freezes up, the ship will not be able to move. He asks if he can shoot at the enemy, but the hermit says he can only shoot at his guns. He says he just had a nightmare, and that he is okay now. He tells the hermit that they are hounding their ship, and he does not like it. The giant space fortress is coming for them. They want to know why they are after the ship.
