He says that shiki made a wrong choice in choosing to fight with the union army. He predicts that humankind will be destroyed. Elsie says that if he had died when he was young, he would not have all of this mental anguish. She tells him that he saved her life once, and that he is foolish to let such a chance go. She says that she is sorry for his loss, but that it will make her sad to hear him speak in this manner. She asks him if he remembers what he said to Homura in front of Valkyrie, and he says that it was the worst thing he could have said. He also says that he misses her, and they had planned to go to the market together.
