About This Chapter
In this short scene, we learn that the city of Desdemona has a dome over it, and that it's made of "the planet of ash" . We learn that this is because they call it the "planet of ash," which means that it contains all of the elements that make up the universe, including the sun, the moon, the planets, and so on. The narrator tells us that he tried to analyze the composition of the dome, but he couldn't figure out all of its parts. He also says that he's working on building a way to get to the city so that they can destroy the "all - link system" , which is basically the backbone of the universe. He says that if he doesn't destroy this system, all the other systems in the universe will be destroyed as well. He's shocked to learn that Shura is able to stop a battleship from coming into the city, and he says that they're going to burn him to the ground with the cannons on the ship. Shura, he says, is four times stronger than he was supposed to be, and now he'll be able to defeat him alone. He tells the narrator to be careful with Shura and to be sure to take care of him, because he might be a robot.
