Hiromi and Homura are happy to see each other again. Hiromi tells Homura that the monster is gone, and that they need to get away from it. Homura tells him that they can't because the monster's collar keeps it from moving freely. He tells Hiromi that he's made the most of his life, and now he'll have to kill the monster. He's going to have to make a new sword to do it. The monster is happy to hear that they've killed it, and Hiromi says that it's gone back to its original size of 100,000. He thinks that's a good sign, because it means the monster has been sent to his master, Madame Kurenai, who's been plotting another uprising. He decides to use the money from the potion to burn down the labor district.
