The narrator complains that he's been waiting for the two of them to get together, and he hopes that they'll be able to meet soon. He's glad that they can meet, because he thinks they're going to have a lot of fun together. He tells the narrator that he did a homestay in another part of the country, and that he and rei went to a school festival together, which was fun. He also says that they watched a horror movie together to "overcome" his friend's fear of horror. He says that he doesn't like to talk about horror, but he does like to go with the whole family to a haunted house at the school festival. He asks the narrator to show him his new long-sleeved kimono, which he wore because he wanted to show his friend that he was "leaner" than he was. He thanks the narrator for showing him.
