In the middle of a fire, the two men realize that they've been trapped in a fire passage for two hours. They can't figure out why they haven't been able to get out yet. The ice river valley folk aren't following them, and the owner of the place sure isn't going to let them get out. He's going to kill them all if they don't leave the fire passage alone. The two men wonder if they're going to die if they jump into the fire. They're sure they'll.
