The chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter. The narrator tells us that the shadow corps has been hiding out in the mountains, and that they have been able to buy time to find and capture the real Xiaoyan. The shadow corps had been disguised as Xiaoyan for half a month, and the leader of the Mingling sect has been too powerful to stop them. The Mingling leader says that he has done everything he can to find the real Xiaoyan, but that the rest is up to the master of the universe. The master is overjoyed to find out that his disciple has grown to be a four-star general. He says that the little treasure that he carries with him is enough to make him a great general, even if it means that he will never see his son again. The man tells the narrator that he hates him for killing the elders of Mingling's sect, but he doesn't mention that Mingling himself has been hunted down by the yun-lan sect to find justice for the family and for his father. Mingling says he can be killed, but the man cannot be killed.
