The ghost suppression fortress will be the border between the empire and the mountains of the magic beast. The narrator tells us that the fortress is being searched for a criminal named "Xiao" and that he can get a black-ranking skill if he delivers some information. He also says that one of his friends must have changed the poster in which he was wearing the ice-worm mask. He says that once he knows who did it, he will break off his relations with the friend. The boy over there, he says, is exactly the same criminal as the one he saw in the poster. The man over there must have had a grudge against him. He tells the narrator that he has arranged for the Shadow Corps to spread rumors about the whereabouts of the criminal. He then says that the human-eating demon king will be coming soon. He asks the narrator to explain what is going on to his granddaughter. He wants her to know that he is going to break off all of his relationships with the unreliable bastrades. He is also worried about the reward he will get if he catches the criminal dead or alive. He wonders how much more he will be rewarded if he captures the criminal alive or dead. Another man says that if he surrenders, he'll spare the life of the yun-lan sect. He thinks that the aura is from the dou-king and that the man is trying to rebel against the general.
