About This Chapter
In this short scene, the hero and his men prepare for battle. He tells them that even though the mountain has just attained the status of a "dom emperor," it can still control "ven emous snakes" of "fourth rank power" and below. He also tells them to prepare snake-repelling powder to repel the demon snakes. The snake that can transform into a human is ugly, but the other wise snakes are not so ugly. The hero tells the men that they are surrounded by thousands of snakes. He asks them if they really think they can escape from the mountain, and they reply that they do. He then tells the snake that he is from the "Han clan" in the city, and that they can be troublesome, but that if he kills all of them, no one will know about it. The man tells the snakes to listen up, because it must be the expert who has lent them a hand. He says that anyone who does not disappear within the next ten breaths will die, and the man says that there is no shame in killing the snake.
