The elder snake tells the kid to "swish the sun flame" and to "crack the crack" of the ice-river formation. The kid does just that, and the elder snake can't believe that he's managed to do it. The ice river formation isn't a good match for the sun's flame, he says, because it's "eating up too much" of their dou-qi . He's going to have to punch the kid in the guts to get him to stop.
