About This Chapter
Jim and the others are in the middle of the forest when they hear a thump and a blood-curdling sound. They realize that they're trapped in the forest. They're surrounded by a thick fog, and Jim can't see out of his left eye. He's afraid he's going to die if he doesn't get out of the fog. He realizes that the forest is surrounded by giant black holes, which are sucking people into them. He also realizes that he can see ghosts, and that they look like "godly beings" . After walking all night, they finally see some ghosts. They don't look like human beings, but they do look like gods. They chase them down, but the ghost isn't a god. It's just an old misunder that's standing there. Jim thinks that he and the other men will be able to escape the forest if they just keep walking.
