In this chapter, the Time Traveller tells his story. When he was ten years old, his mother left home. He was taken in by his father, who was a single man. The two of them went to live together in the house where they used to live. The Time Traveller says that he became a bad boy, skipping school and becoming involved in fights. When his mother came to visit him in high school, he hid in a dormitory until she left. When she came back, she left him food and a new cell phone. He says that his mother also went to the place where he worked, but he did not see her. He wonders if they will ever return to earth. He tells the story of how he and his father signed up to go to the Olympic Games. They won gold medals in pole vaulting, and they also represented Earth in the games. They became Earth's superheroes.
