Back in the present, the Time Traveller is depressed because he cannot remember anything. He wonders if he ever made a time machine, and wonders if the time machine is the reason for his amnesia. The Time Traveller explains that he has gone back in time to save a person, and that he will not be responsible for the person's death. He says that he is a mad scientist, who pursues "impossible possibilities" . He is envious of the others, who go to the "restricted area" to find a welcome banquet. He asks the records officer if he is close to the big sister. The records officer says he is, and the two of them go off to get candy.
