Ulysses and Silver Sands are still fighting in the hallway. Ulysses realizes that the navigation umbrella has not yet been unlocked, and that he must find an elevator to get out of the research building. The human race has vanished from the universe, leaving the machines to operate in silence. The navigation umbrella cannot be used to unlock the time machine, so Ulysses must run away with Silver Sands.
