The narrator wakes up in a swamp, where he is carried away by "evil spirits" . He remembers the fear he felt when he woke up, and the images that came to his head when he touched the dead man. He feels that he is in the presence of an "obsessional undead" who is wandering the "dead sea" looking for his missing sister. The undead swarm around him, trying to kill him, but a "strange gravitational force" pulls him out of their clutches. He sinks into the sea, and a "strong presence" appears at the bottom.
