The two men decide to continue walking together. The narrator tells them to trust their own instincts. He tells them that he has found a way to get to the top of the mountain without hurting them. He says that he can only shred his wings and that he will never let this happen again. He promises that one day, he will be able to release all of his pent-up desires. He warns them that they will be caught once they reach the top.
