In pursuit of the silver sand, Ulysses follows the records officer underground, only to discover that she has been hiding some of the family's most important secrets. Ulysses tells the princess that he will use the cloning technology to restore the family to its former glory. He tells her that the children have become obedient, but that they will never come back. The soul of the children that was once theirs has been killed, replaced, and "reborn" not even their death has left a trace. Ulysses claims that he has a "glitch" in his system, and that he is constantly changing parts.
