About This Chapter
In this chapter, the cat delivers a series of cat-like meows to demonstrate his power. He tells the reader that he has the power to eat people, burn them, and take their punishment. He also tells us that he can do this by turning people into cats. The cat's meows are interrupted by the sound of a "recovery light" flying into the sky. This light is meant to be a symbol of love, but instead it is used to indicate that the cat has lost his tail and is no longer able to communicate with the humans around him. The recovery light causes the cat to lose all of his clothes, and he begins to cry. He then realizes that his tail has been caught by a "cuckoo" , who has come to rescue him. He realizes that the students have lost their minds, and that he must work harder to improve his appearance in front of them
