About This Chapter
The next morning, Hirokazu asks to be taken to another part of town so that he can visit his sister. He tells her that he has booked a shuttle to pick her up at the train station. Hiroko tells him that he is under a great deal of stress, and that he should have woken him up earlier. He says that he doesn't remember speaking to his sister at all the previous day, and he swears that he'll be compensated for the inconvenience he may have caused her. He asks if she recognizes him, and she says that she does, but that she's not sure what he's trying to do. He explains that he recognizes her as the source of all the time and place information that is sent to the other side of the world. He then uses this recognition as the basis of the information that he sends back to Hiroko. When Hiroko recognizes him as the person who sent this message, the memory is erased, and the rest of the message is sent through the "pipeline." Hiroko is terribly sorry for what has happened, but he knows that the teacher must have been in shock, and so he suggests that she act like usual.
