This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which Hiroshi and his men are discussing how to defeat Mishima. The flashback reveals that Mishima has been preparing for battle ever since the night of the coup, and that she and her men have been preparing to attack. As they prepare for battle, Hiroshi tells Mishima that he will protect her, and Mishima agrees.
