The lieutenant tells the captain that he and the rest of the royal guard have been ordered by the governor to deliver a message to the cadet. The lieutenant asks the captain what he hopes to accomplish with the message, and the captain replies that he does not know the man's past, but he does know that he is a member of the imperial guard. The captain asks the lieutenant why he is so casual with him, and when the lieutenant says that he doesn't look dead, the captain says that this is what comrades do. He says that if he had completed his mission, he would have been able to alter the military's database and infiltrate the facility. He wonders if the captain would have gotten away with such a thing if the commander had not messed with so many databases, and he wonders if people would start calling him a crybaby. He asks if he would get away with it, and then wonders why he looks so lethargic, and wonders if it was home sickness or something else. He then asks if it is the captain's job to find the pilot who owns the hangar, and if he means to find him out of curiosity, or if he is just trying to find out who the pilot is. When the lieutenant replies that it is his job to get the pilot, he says that the captain is too "bullheaded" to back down, and that he will try to handle himself a bit more "oafishly" from now on out
