He adds that he doesn't think Darcy has any intentions of talking to him. So he won't tell her anything about it. He promises to never believe her again if she does anything without consulting him first. She agrees to go with Darcy to the ball. He asks her to tell him what she thinks about the assassination of Macken. She says that she thinks that Macken is just waiting for the chance to kill cecil so that he can marry mina. She also says that if something happens to her in her carriage, everyone will know that it was her fault.
