About This Chapter
It's been a while since Polonius has been able to recover from his wounds, and now that he's back at the palace, Polonius wonders why the king is suddenly treating him so differently. He decides that it's time for Polonius to get to know him better, and he asks her to set up some tasks for the guards so that she can better serve the king. She tells him to come to the palace and view the map of the kingdom, which shows the distribution of the crops throughout the kingdom. She also suggests that they produce educational pamphlets using the handouts from the aristocrats, so that the peasants will be able to see how much of their land is being used for farming. Polonius is glad to see that the tablecloth is laid beautifully, and that the clothes for the hunt have been ironed. He's sure that the prince who wins the silver elk trophy will be the prince Polonius thinks he will be.
