The princess asks the maid if she trusts her enough to let her out of her sight. The maid tells her that Prince Alex did not go to the palace on the day that the royal hunt was to take place. He took the slave girl with him to the border. They are still trying to find the whereabouts of the two. The princess tells the maid that she's been serving the prince for so long and that he's loyal to her. She's not sure how loyal he really is, but she knows that he could have been seduced by the slave's beauty. She sends more men to bring the prince back to her and tells him to send more men. She tells him that it's okay to let the girl go now, but that she still has to think about how to handle the situation. She doesn't want to kill her, she tells the princess, because she is the rightful heir to the throne. She says that she and the prince can be allies. She also says that the prince needs military support from another country, and that they need to support a new regime in order to do so. She asks the prince if they've formed an alliance now. The prince says that he hasn't yet made a decision.
