Back in Norterang, King Macken complains to his son luka that he has left no time for mercy. He tells him that all the princes went to the convent the night before, and that the public would condemn him if he tried to kill the former king. Macken says that he does not intend to kill alex, but that he would like to find a cure for plague. He says that if alex could cure the plague, then it would be a good thing for his reputation. He asks luka if he knows what the princes are up to, and luka says that they are not children anymore, so it is time for him to arrange the princes' whereabouts. He also says that it is the first time he has seen his brothers united, and he is happy to have been able to prolong the future with his highness.
