Sophia wakes up in the royal palace, where she's being held captive by her step-brother, Prince Alex. Alex is furious that her stepmother has kidnapped her, and he threatens to kill her if she doesn't leave immediately. He also tells her that she'll have to live as a slave for the rest of her life if she does not leave immediately, because her father will be coming for her soon. Sophoa thinks that her father is lying, and that he's probably trying to use her as a bargaining chip to get him to agree to some sort of peace treaty with her father. She realizes that she has a gift that she can't give to her stepmother when they're alone, and she plans to make her stepmother regret this.
