About This Chapter
It's summer break, and Ruri and Corin are getting ready to go back to school. Ruri wants to get back to studying, so she whips out her arms and stretches her backs to catch cicadas. Corin wants to play, too, but Ruri reminds him that he's only been coming to school for a short period of time, so he can't really keep up with the activity. He tells Ruri to wake up, or he'll lose the game. He's going to show Ruri how to catch the cicadas and make the loser make a big deal out of it. He says that if he wins, he can tell Ruri never to talk to him again, and that would be a big win for him. But Ruri doesn't like the idea of fighting with the insects, because they're flying away, and they'll just keep flying away. He wants to sneak up and catch them, and he thinks he can do it from the perspective of the insects. He starts to wrestle his hair in the net, and another one starts chirping. He thinks the other one is mocking him, but he can see no way he can take it from a bug. He asks Ruri if he needs to take his clothes off, and she says he does, but she's not sure he can strip off. He wonders if he can just let the insects pee on him, and then he wonders if the insects just want to be friends with him. Then Ruri tells him to get away from him, because he won't let him get away with this, and it's gross.
