It's the end of winter break, which means it's time for Christmas and New Year's. The narrator is excited about the holidays, but he's also nervous about what's to come. He wakes up to find that his banana has been run over by a car. He's so excited that he doesn't even realize that he has been running over a banana. He tells the narrator to wake up and show him that energy he has always had. He says he'll sleep when the holidays are over. He asks the narrator where he is going, and the narrator tells him to show him how much he has grown. He also says that he can't buy another banana, though he can buy a new one if he wants. He adds that the food that's served at the holidays is just as good as the food they serve at the beginning of the year. He compares the food to a friennnnd, and he says that Christmas is a test of the human spirit, because it gives us a chance to let our guard down a bit at the end, but at the same time, it also gives us presents and money. He goes on to say that the Christmas food is a powerful temptation, but it also tests our spirit, since it gives a lot of money and presents, and it also lets us know that we're not as strong as we'd like to be. Finally, he says, he wants to tell the narrator something that he needs to tell him. He wants to know that the banana is telling him something, and that something is about to happen to him.
