Back in Chapter 5, Hiroyuki and his mother discuss the upcoming school trip to Okayinawa. Hiroyuki tells his mother that he's going to spend time with his best friend, Akatsuki, and that they'll be spending time together on the school trip. He's excited about the trip, but he doesn't know how to explain it to his mother. She's shocked that he wants to go on such a trip, and she's even more shocked when he tells her that it's a "pivotal moment" in his life.
