This chapter opens on the eve of the neighborhood's annual bon odori, a street dance that attracts a large number of spectators. One of the dance's stars, a woman named Sakura, comes to the neighborhood every year to dance with the other members of the association, but she has no idea what the dance is all about. When the dance begins, the girls are about to begin their dance when they hear that the girl has already begun her dance. The girls are horrified that she has begun to act like the center of the group's dance, and they urge her to stop acting like she is the center. She does not listen to them, however, and so they continue their dance.
