This chapter opens with a description of a dog named Nemo. Nemo's owner, Akakun, is a kind and loving man, and he and his dog get along very well. Nemo is upset that his dog is called a "dog" instead of a "human" because he thinks it's insulting to the other dog. He wants his dog's name to be something other than "dog." The dog, however, is not interested in picking a name for his pet. Instead, he wants Nemo to name the dog after him.
