About This Chapter
In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character named "Chorus" . We learn that he is a young man who has just finished his apprenticeship with a woman named "Sayaka chan" , and he is eager to show off his newfound skills. He asks her to give him a banana so he can eat it while he waits for the train to come. She does so, and the two of them eat together. After the banana is eaten, the young man asks "Chop" if she is okay, and she tells him that she is. The young man is impressed by the young woman's ability to communicate in a language other than English, and says that he wishes he could speak to her in English as well. He tells her that he would like to learn how to read and write in English, but she says that she does not know how to do so. She tells him to wait until the train arrives, and then she will teach him how to write. She says that the train will arrive at three o'clock in the afternoon, and that she will give him the banana to eat while she waits for it to arrive. She then tells him how she made the banana armor for him, and how she gave him the money to buy it. She asks him if he is okay with the armor, and when he says yes, she says, "This is so cruel, on
