In this chapter, we meet the "chack" and his wife, who are in the middle of a conversation. The chack tells his wife that he is going to give some manju to a visitor from the "Kinkakuji Temple" . He asks her what she wants to talk about, and she tells him that she wants him to stay away from her until he is done talking.
