The Governess is surprised to find that she has had a dream in which she is with Mina because of the story she has told herself. She tells herself that the dream was not a dream at all, but that she had actually seen Mina in the dream and that she was the one who had done the deed. She then goes on to tell the Governess that she will be staying with her instead of going to sleep with Mina.
