The narrator is happy to be back in the city. He's bummed that he doesn't have a lot of friends, but he's determined to make friends. He suggests that they hang out at a friend's house the next day to make new friends. The owner of the house agrees, and they go off to buy some new clothes. The narrator doesn' t know a whole lot about clothes, but the owner tells him that they've been using these bags for a long time. He also tells the narrator that his girlfriend isn't his "girl friend" , but his boss.
