In this short scene, we learn that the Governess has made a number of edible treats for herself and her lover. The Governess tells us that she eats them all the time because she is always cooking for him. She says that she has no talent for cooking, but that a friend of hers has taught her how to do it. She also says that every time she sees him, she thinks that he looks like a seal. She wishes that he would always stay at her place so that she could be soothed by him.
