"Hotaru's Way" opens with a conversation between hotaru and his wife. Hotaru complains that his wife has gained weight and that she is skinnier than him. He asks her why they are so loud and she replies that they are talking about something. She tells him that she thinks he is upset about something and that her husband is taking time off to take care of it. She says that she will never be a mother to him because he cannot even come to her with his problems. She adds that she thought he was the supporting actress and now he is under the sun as they speak. She thinks that she was meek when she first met him and now she thinks that he is the older man and that he wants to protect her. She feels that she has cut herself off from him because she tried to go her own way. She asks her wife if she would like to speak to him for her. He blushes and she says that it is Friday and she has not left the airport. She goes on to say that she got a kiln and a big studio and has nowhere to go. She wonders what she is doing there and says that artists come from all over the world to work in the tropics. She thanks her wife for taking care of her and says she can head over to work with her tomorrow.
