In this chapter, we learn that hotaru's mother has moved to his mother's house in order to be closer to her son. Meanwhile, hotaru is trying to console himself about the fact that his girlfriend has left him. He wonders where they're going, and wonders if she's talking about his family. He's not sure, but he's sure that they'll have to think about moving. He also wonders if his mom is talking about him and his family, and he wonders if they've had to change their names, since his last name was "honey" . Ouch. They're moving, he says, to every time his last mother got married or had a divorce. He wants to know what's going on, but can't give her an answer without giving her a reason. He has a meeting with a group of "spatial designer triplets" in the afternoon. He says he wants to find out if hotaru wants to marry him, and if she wants to be with him for good. He thinks that marriage will let him tell the world that he "handed off his lady" , and that he'll be able to save a lot of money if he marries her. He decides that if he doesn't find out, it'll drive him crazy.
