"Hotaru's Way" is a short scene in which Hirokazu's boss, Tetahashi, is not at work because he has found out about Hiro's living situation. He is there because he wants to confront Hiro about his work, and Hiro tells him that he has done a good job. He also says that he is giving him a run for his money because he is pushing him to improve. He says that his girlfriend is so kind to him that she tells him what feeling he is feeling, but he is wrong about that. He wants to tell him about his girlfriend's life, and he asks to see how she is doing. He falls asleep under a scarf and wakes up when he sees that his imaginary roommate, Teshima, is in the street. He asks if she is super drunk, and she says that she is. He tells her that he would like to create a boyfriend for her, but she is too young to be his age. She asks if he knows where he lives, and when he says that it is a run-down house, she is embarrassed to live there. She goes on to say that she will have to work her ass off in the next year.
