The Governess laments the fact that her husband's care team had to chew her out for not wearing her wedding dress. She is so upset that she lets the mask slip. She says that she will be moving out of the house in two days and will be living with the Governess in an inn. She tells her that she has been working very hard and has had to eat very little because of an injury. She wonders why she has not been able to eat for a long time and says that at her age it takes time for her to recover from an injury and she knows how to soothe her nerves. She then tells her friend not to tell her she wore the dress to the wedding. She also tells her to wait until she can show how natural she is before commenting on her appearance. She explains that she had most of her good clothes in an over night bag that she gave to her friend and that she threw the coat over the bag to make it look like she was wearing it. She asks if she will have to return to work the next day, but she says she will not have to because she is coming back tomorrow. She adds that she does not need anything since she is going to be living in an apartment for only two days
